Anime Expeditions Sandbox Guide

Use Sandbox to compare units, traits, Potential, equipment, range, and upgrade breakpoints without guessing.

Sandbox is the correct place to turn a showcase into a repeatable test. EA+ added the feature alongside Unit Showcase and custom AoE indicator colors. It is for controlled comparison; do not assume a test grants progression rewards unless the current screen says so.

Mode index

Phase
Goal
Best action
Failure check
Baseline
Choose one target and fixed conditions
Create a fair comparison
Reset hidden buffs, party effects and speed
Unit test
Record each upgrade
Compare DMG, SPA, range, cost and cap
Do not mix base and evolved forms
Build test
Change one variable
Measure trait, Potential or equipment
Multiple changes hide the cause
Placement
Use AoE and range indicators
Find lane and overlap breakpoints
Test real map geometry afterward

Create a baseline sheet for the unit at level, evolution, Potential and trait. Run the full upgrade path, then change exactly one part of the build. For support units, record team damage or coverage; for control, record uptime and immunity; for farmers, record clear time rather than a single hit.

Team and reward checklist

  • Disable or document every global buff.
  • Use the same target, duration and speed.
  • Capture the unit panel before and after.
  • Confirm the winning setup in Story, Expeditions or Raids.

Mode questions

Does Sandbox prove a unit is best?

It proves controlled performance. Real maps add routes, economy, enemy immunity and objectives, so the winner must survive a live-mode check.

What should I test first?

Placement cost and early upgrade breakpoints. A unit with huge max damage can still be poor if it reaches that damage too late.

Mode rules, timers, scoring, and rewards can rotate. Read the current portal before spending entries or materials.
