Reaper (Released) Unit Guide

Build Reaper for permanent enemy-type scaling and critical damage, with Forsaken, Spirit of Moonblade, Mirage Step, and boss placement.

Reaper (Released) is an A-tier critical carry that gets better as it encounters different enemy types. Some launch coverage calls the unit Soul Reaper (Released); treat that as a search alias unless the live card in your server uses it. Reaper is strongest in longer stages where its permanent bonuses have time to build.

How to obtain and evolve Reaper

Reaper is part of the high-rarity roster, but the current banner rotation and a complete Released-form recipe are not consistently documented. Use the live Rates and Evolution panels for the pool, odds, pity, exclusive item, Sprites, and Gold. Do not copy another Mythic’s recipe simply because several evolutions share Sprite costs.

Lock the base unit and any Reaper-specific material. If your card already reads Reaper (Released), compare that exact form with showcases; base Reaper footage can understate the current kit.

Permanent scaling and Mirage Step

Reaper gains permanent Damage and critical bonuses after attacking new enemy types. The kit also includes a temporary five-percent SPA reduction for 20 seconds. This makes mixed-enemy stages more favorable than a short stage containing one repeated target.

Track the first attack on each distinct enemy type rather than every individual enemy. If two enemies look different but the passive does not update, the game may classify them as one type. The live buff display is more reliable than visual guesses.

Mirage Step lets Reaper change position. Use it to restore attack uptime when a boss exits the original circle or when a later lane becomes the real kill zone. Moving just because the ability is available can lose an attack cycle and break support coverage.

Best Trait for Reaper

Forsaken is the recommended fit because Reaper already rewards Critical Chance and Critical Damage. It reinforces the unit’s identity instead of splitting the build. Primordial is a consistent alternative when you want Damage, SPA, and Range without depending on critical variance. Keep Unbound if rolled; it remains too valuable to discard casually.

Test Forsaken over several identical runs. One lucky crit streak is not enough to prove a build, especially on a short boss.

Best equipment

Spirit of Moonblade is Reaper’s unique target. A recorded copy showed additional Crit Chance and Crit Damage, while the passive grants more Damage and crit scaling for each new enemy type attacked. The public equipment index does not yet confirm its map, and displayed base values are rolled item stats rather than universal fixed numbers.

Shinigami Sword is a generic crit alternative with a passive that gains Damage for enemies inside range, up to its cap. Its published numbers are also a sample roll and its map remains TBA. Katana or Warrior’s Axe should only be used if the live Reaper card is Physical.

Best teammates

Puppet helps Reaper focus and amplify the priority target. Salmon Sorcerer or String Demon keeps a boss in range during crit and temporary SPA windows. A matching type buffer adds consistent team value, while a farm unit helps pay for Reaper’s later upgrades in long stages.

Reaper pairs well with a dedicated wave clearer such as Lady Giant or 8th Sword. Let that unit handle wide groups while Reaper accumulates bonuses and prepares for elites and bosses.

Placement and best modes

Start in a position that touches early enemy types without sacrificing the final boss lane. A central bend is better than the entrance if it still lets Reaper tag every important class. Use Mirage Step only when the next location provides longer contact or restores overlap with Puppet and control.

Reaper performs best in long Story maps, Raids, and Tournament stages with varied enemies. It is less impressive in short farming runs where permanent bonuses barely stack. Judge the unit at the mode length you actually play.

Common mistakes

  • Counting individual enemies instead of distinct enemy types for scaling.
  • Moving with Mirage Step and leaving every buffer or amplifier behind.
  • Treating one Spirit of Moonblade roll as the fixed stat line.
  • Using Forsaken tests with too few attacks to average critical variance.
  • Claiming a banner or evolution route that the live interfaces do not show.

Quick answers

Is Reaper S tier?

The current overall DPS ranking places Reaper in A tier. It can feel stronger in a long mixed-enemy stage where its permanent scaling reaches full value.

Is Soul Reaper a different unit?

Current sources use both Reaper and Soul Reaper wording. Use the form name displayed on your live unit card; this guide treats Soul Reaper (Released) as the same search intent, not proof of a separate unit.

Compare Reaper’s long-stage scaling in the current tier list and best DPS units guide. Use the team compositions and unit placement guide to keep Mirage Step inside support coverage, then check best equipment by unit before treating a Spirit Moonblade sample roll as a fixed stat line.

Ranking, enemy-type scaling, temporary SPA buff, and Mirage Step checked July 16, 2026. Obtain route, Released recipe, Moonblade map, and rolled equipment values require live confirmation.
